AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust w/ Chrome Silver Tips for GV / VA Subaru Impreza WRX & WRX STI

The AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust with Chrome Silver Tips is engineered specifically for the EJ25-powered GV and VA Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI, built from the ground up for this platform rather than adapted from another application. Where the Touring Edition uses AWE’s patented 180 Technology® to deliver a deep, drone-free BOXER® rumble, the Track Edition removes the rear resonators entirely, producing a louder, more aggressive tone both inside and out while keeping the same full 3″ straight-through construction and precision build quality. Tips are 102mm slash-cut, double-walled to hold a mirror finish under hard driving, and engraved with the AWE logo. The entire system is manufactured in-house at AWE’s Pennsylvania facility using US-sourced .065″-wall T304L stainless steel, and it ships with AWE’s Perfect Fitment Guarantee, No CEL Guarantee, and Lifetime Warranty as standard. It is 100% emissions-friendly and, if the sound character ever needs adjusting, AWE’s Conversion Kit lets you swap between Track and Touring Editions without purchasing a new system.

Track Edition Exhaust

The Track Edition is built for drivers who want a more aggressive, open exhaust note. It carries over the integrated front pipe, custom midpipe resonator, and engineered precision of the Touring Edition; but drops the 180 Technology® drone-canceling resonator. A straight section takes its place at the rear, allowing unrestricted flow and delivering a louder, more pronounced tone through mid-range acceleration and deceleration, which can be intense depending on the driver.

Conversion Kits

The system is designed for simple conversion between Track and Touring Editions, allowing drivers to adjust cabin sound levels without replacing the entire exhaust.

Is the AWE Track Edition Exhaust for the GV/VA WRX and STI too loud or droney for daily driving? On a stock downpipe, the Track Edition delivers a noticeably louder and more aggressive BOXER tone than the Touring Edition, particularly through mid-range acceleration and on deceleration. Drone at sustained highway speeds is present but varies by RPM and tends to improve past the break-in period. With an aftermarket downpipe, especially a catless unit, the volume and cabin resonance increase significantly; multiple WRX forum owners described the combination as more than they bargained for at highway speeds. AWE notes the tone can be intense depending on the driver, and the Track Edition cannot be returned for noise-related reasons.
What is the actual difference between the AWE Track Edition and Touring Edition on the GV/VA WRX and STI? Both carry the same integrated front pipe, custom midpipe resonator, and 3″ T304L stainless steel construction. The difference is a single rear section; the Touring Edition installs AWE’s patented 180 Technology® resonator at the rear to cancel drone-prone EJ25 frequencies, while the Track Edition replaces that with a straight-through section. The result is a louder, more open BOXER tone with the Track Edition at all speeds, and the drone-controlled, highway-composed character with the Touring. One MAPerformance STI owner noted they were glad they chose the Touring Edition because it was already almost too loud, which gives a useful data point for where the Track Edition sits relative to that.
Does the AWE Track Edition Exhaust for the GV WRX or STI fit hatchback body styles? No. AWE confirms GV chassis fitment for sedan models only; fitment on GV hatchbacks has not been verified. VA WRX and VA WRX STI sedans from 2015 through 2021 are fully confirmed applications. If you own a GV chassis hatchback, do not order this listing without first verifying fitment directly with AWE or an authorized dealer.
Can I switch from the Track Edition to the Touring Edition later on my GV or VA WRX or STI? Yes. AWE offers conversion kits specifically for this swap; only the rear axle-back section changes and the integrated front pipe and midpipe resonator carry over. The conversion can be done at any point after installation. If you start with the Track Edition and later find the highway drone or overall volume incompatible with daily driving, the conversion kit to Touring Edition is the direct solution without replacing the full exhaust.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts.
