JCR Titanium Valved Race Exhaust System for 982 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS / Spyder RS

The new 718 GT4 RS has garnered excellent reviews from both magazines and customers. Porsche has made significant efforts to enhance the sound compared to the 718 GT4, and the introduction of the new carbon airbox inside the cabin certainly amplifies the interior acoustics. However, the factory exhaust sound still leaves much to be desired. From the factory, the 718 GT4 RS is equipped with an adapted version of the 718 GT4 rear silencer. This silencer features a very small pipe diameter, which creates a considerable restriction for the 9000rpm GT3-derived engine found in this model. The JCR Titanium Valved Race Exhaust System not only eliminates this restrictive bottleneck within the exhaust system but also reduces weight and produces the iconic GT3 howl that enthusiasts expect.

Direct Replacement / Modular Fitment

The JCR Titanium Valved Race Exhaust System is a complete direct replacement for the OEM 718 GT4 RS rear silencer assembly. No fabrication is needed — simply remove the factory rear silencer and replace it with the JCR Valved Race Exhaust System, using the factory mounting points and exhaust valve vacuum lines. This system includes titanium tips secured with motorsport-grade v-band clamps, ensuring perfect alignment every time. The v-band clamps also allow for quick changes at the track, offering optional Titanium Silenced Tips that reduce sound levels by an additional 6-7dB. This ensures owners who plan to use their cars on the track will not face concerns regarding excessive noise levels during strict track events.

Light Weight

Thanks to the construction and material selection, JCR was able to meet all performance goals while reducing the weight of the OEM system by over 50%. This modification provides a clear performance benefit.

Performance Increase

Every component of the JCR Titanium Exhaust line is guaranteed to improve horsepower and torque, with results varying depending on the specific combination of parts. Specific horsepower gains will be shared in the coming weeks, but initial acceleration numbers before and after the upgrade are looking very promising.

Valved Design

The JCR Valved Race Exhaust System includes small diameter silencers in the valves-closed exhaust route, reducing volume when the valves are closed. Once the valves open, the sound becomes fully unrestricted. Valve function is controlled as per OEM specifications with the exhaust button, so no additional controllers are required.

JCR Tips

During the development of the 718 GT4 RS exhaust system, it became clear that retaining the factory Titanium Weissach tips would not be feasible while maximizing power gains due to their restrictive internal diameter. This led JCR to develop its own Titanium Weissach Tips, inspired by the factory tips found on all 718 GT4 RS models with the Weissach package. Additionally, JCR offers a more conventional Titanium Megaphone design. Both the Titanium Megaphone and Titanium Weissach tips are available with or without black coatings as an option.

GT3 Style Sound

The sound signature of the JCR Titanium Valved Race Exhaust System has been engineered to closely resemble the sound of JCR’s highly popular GT3 product line. Gone is the flat and dull exhaust note, replaced with a beautiful flat-six tone and an increased volume when requested. By utilizing the same merge design as JCR’s existing Race Exhaust System products, the GT3-derived 4.0L engine is allowed to truly howl at 9000rpm. This system retains factory valve control, ensuring zero drone during cruising while providing the ability to increase volume when the valves are open.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
