SPL Parts Adjustable Front Sway Bar Endlinks for 991 / 98x / 718 Porsche 911 / Boxster / Cayman

Front sway bar preload is a problem on any Porsche that has been lowered, corner-weighted, or set up with an aftermarket sway bar; and on the 991 era 911 and the 981/982/718 Boxster and Cayman, it shows up in exactly the way it shouldn’t. A sway bar with preload has a baseline twist built in at rest; the bar is already loaded toward one side before the car has rolled through a single corner. That asymmetry feeds into every suspension setup decision made afterward; spring rates, damper settings, corner weights; all of it being dialed in against a variable that shouldn’t be there. The SPL Parts FE 991 adjustable front sway bar endlinks eliminate preload as a variable. Black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum turnbuckles with left and right hand threaded rod ends allow each side to be independently adjusted to the exact length that produces zero preload at the car’s current ride height. Set both sides to zero preload, and the sway bar starts from a neutral position; it loads only in response to body roll, not because of a height discrepancy between the left and right front corners.

Does this endlink fit the Porsche 991.2 RS with the Weissach package? No. This listing, the SPL FE 991, fits all 991 era 911 models except the Weissach-equipped 991.2 RS. The Weissach package uses a different front sway bar configuration that requires the separate SPL FE 991 WS. If you have a 991.2 RS with the Weissach package, order the FE 991 WS instead.
Does this endlink fit the GT3, GT4, and 911R models? Yes. The SPL FE 991 fits the 991 GT3, 991 GT2, and 911R, as well as the 981 and 982/718 Cayman GT4. All of these models are covered under the standard FE 991 part number; the only exception in the 991 range is the Weissach-equipped 991.2 RS.
Why does front sway bar preload matter on a corner-balanced Porsche? A corner-balanced car has its corner weights set by adjusting ride height at each corner. Any time the front corners are at slightly different heights; which is the normal result of corner balancing; a fixed-length endlink twists the sway bar and introduces a baseline load bias toward the heavier side. That bias is present at rest, before the car has rolled through a single corner. Setting each endlink to the exact length that produces zero preload at the car’s current corner heights removes that bias, giving the sway bar a neutral starting point and making the setup more predictable.
Do the 65-degree misalignment studs make a practical difference for aftermarket sway bars? Yes. Aftermarket sway bars typically offer multiple adjustment holes that change the sway bar connection angle relative to the factory position. Standard endlink studs with 15 to 20 degrees of articulation bind as the angle increases away from factory geometry, which restricts bar movement and puts stress on the stud joint. The 65-degree Chromoly studs articulate freely at every hole position on every aftermarket sway bar for these platforms, allowing the full rated stiffness to reach the chassis at any adjustment setting.
Are these suitable for a street-driven 991 or 718? Yes. The SPL FE 991 is designed for both street and race applications. For a street Porsche running an aftermarket front sway bar, spring upgrade, or alignment change that has altered ride height, the primary benefit is eliminating rubber deflection and zeroing out preload. Both improvements are felt on the street as more direct and consistent front sway bar response.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
