SOUL Performance Products’ Porsche 986 Boxster Competition Exhaust Package for 2000-2004 models replaces the restrictive factory exhaust with a purpose-built header and catback combination designed to increase flow, improve response, and deliver an aggressive yet refined flat-six note. Developed to address common OEM bottlenecks like oversized factory catalysts, thin flanges, and compromised primary tubing, the system is tuned to add excitement while keeping drivability in check. SOUL’s mufflers are engineered to minimize drone, even when paired with free flow headers, so the car stays reserved at partial throttle without needing valves. Built in-house from T304L stainless steel, the package features precision headers with port-matched flanges, smooth-radius primary tubing, and optimized collectors, paired with mandrel-bent exhaust tubing and fortified muffler casings for durability. Bespoke brackets and clamps are included for secure mounting, and this configuration is finished with Straight Cut Single Wall 321 stainless tips in SOUL’s Signature Satin for a clean, motorsport-inspired look. Every component is fixture-tested, quality-checked, and foam packed, with new high-grade hardware and thorough installation instructions included.

Development

The 986 Boxster is a highly capable sports car with strong value and plenty of potential, but it leaves the factory with a restrictive exhaust system. The stock headers use oversized catalytic converters, thin flanges, and compromised primary tubing that can hold back power. Farther downstream, the OEM exhaust adds a secondary set of catalytic converters in the pipes that further chokes flow and performance. SOUL Performance Products’ 986 Competition Exhaust Package targets these weak points and replaces them in one complete solution. The result is a full header and catback system engineered to work together to add excitement while minimizing unwanted exhaust qualities. SOUL’s mufflers are designed to practically eliminate drone, even when paired with aftermarket free flow headers, keeping the tone reserved at partial throttle without the need for valves, making it a strong option for drivers who want it loud when appropriate but refined around town.

Construction

SOUL Performance’s precision-engineered headers are meticulously fabricated from T304L stainless steel. Proven design elements, including port-matched flanges, smooth-radius primary tubing, and collectors optimized for exhaust flow work together to maximize performance gains. Each system is built from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel tubing and features mufflers with fortified casings for long-term durability. Bespoke brackets and clamps are included to securely mount the system to the Boxster, and a range of 321 stainless exhaust tips is available in multiple styles and finishes.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US.
