SPL Parts Adjustable Front Sway Bar Endlinks for E8x / E9x G2x, G8x BMW 1M / 2, 3 and 4 Series / M2 / M3 / M4

Running a stiffer aftermarket front sway bar without upgrading the endlinks is one of the more common ways to leave performance gains on the floor. The factory endlinks use rubber bushings that deflect under load, which partially absorbs the lateral stiffness the upgraded bar was supposed to deliver. On top of that, the factory design offers no length adjustment; which matters as soon as ride height changes, spring settling, or corner weighting creates even slight height differences side to side. Preload in the sway bar from unequal endlink length changes how the bar behaves and creates asymmetric handling responses that can be difficult to isolate without the right tools. The SPL Parts FE E9M adjustable front sway bar endlinks address both problems. Each endlink uses a massive PTFE-lined FK 1/2-inch bearing at the shock mount connection, delivering the highest load capacity available in this application and eliminating the deflection that rubber introduces. At the sway bar end, heat-treated Chromoly High Misalignment Studs provide 65 degrees of articulation capability; far more than a standard stud; preventing the endlink from binding when paired with aftermarket sway bars that have multiple adjustment holes at different positions relative to the factory mounting angle. The black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum turnbuckle body works with left and right hand threaded rod ends so length can be set precisely and independently on each side, with no tools required to make incremental adjustments at the track.

Why do the SPL front endlinks use Chromoly misalignment studs instead of a standard ball stud? Standard ball studs have a limited articulation range, typically 15 to 20 degrees. When aftermarket sway bars use different adjustment holes that move the sway bar connection point relative to the factory angle, a standard stud can bind or operate near its articulation limit, which reduces the sway bar’s effectiveness and puts stress on the endlink joint. The heat-treated Chromoly High Misalignment Studs on the SPL FE E9M provide 65 degrees of articulation, which prevents binding across all adjustment hole positions on any aftermarket sway bar, preserving full lateral load transfer without compromise.
Why does endlink length adjustment matter if the car is running stock ride height? Even at stock ride height, springs settle over time and corner weighting creates slight differences in suspension height between left and right. If both endlinks are the same fixed length, this height difference introduces preload into the sway bar; the bar is being twisted slightly even in a straight line, which changes the effective roll stiffness and can create an asymmetric handling response. Adjustable endlinks allow the length on each side to be set independently so the sway bar sits at zero preload regardless of the suspension height at each corner.
Do I need to measure anything before ordering if I have aftermarket coilovers? Yes, and this is important. Many aftermarket coilover manufacturers move the upper shock mount from the OEM position, which changes the distance between the sway bar and the shock mount. The SPL FE E9M covers an OEM mounting position range of 12.9 to 14.4 inches. If the measurement on your car falls outside that range, this part will not reach and a custom length will be needed. Measure the distance between the sway bar and shock mount, and if it does not fall between 12.9 and 14.4 inches, contact us before ordering with your specific measurement.
Are the SPL FE E9M endlinks suitable for street driving, or are they track-only? These endlinks are explicitly designed for both street and race applications. The PTFE-lined FK bearings and Chromoly misalignment studs are built for high-load performance use, but SPL Parts does not classify them as race-only. For street use they offer the same benefit as on track; elimination of rubber deflection, precise length setting, and full articulation without binding.
What is included in the SPL FE E9M pair? Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
